How can we help? 🐾
How-tos for every corner of Zeus for Pets, and a way to reach us if you're stuck.
📖 How-to guides
Step-by-step walkthroughs for the big flows.
🚀 Get started: nine steps to a ready Zeus+
The same checklist the dashboard shows a new owner. Each step ticks itself off as the work lands; the last two are optional.
- 1Step 1, add your pet: Dashboard → “Add a pet”. Name, species, and a rough birthday is fine, everything else hangs off this.
- 2Step 2, add a photo: open the pet → Edit → photo. Their face on every page, the lost-pet flyer, and the Sitter Sheet.
- 3Step 3, log their vaccines: the pet's 💉 Vaccines tab. Scan the paper or type them, and the reminders start on their own.
- 4Step 4, save your vet: 📍 My Places → search and save, with the phone number. Visits, the flyer, and the Sitter Sheet all get the number, and the vet can be the store for anything you buy there.
- 5Step 5, log what they eat: the pet's 🍖 Diet tab. The food and how much per feeding; that amount is what tells Zeus how fast a bag runs out.
- 6Step 6, track their supplies: on the Diet entry tap Track and the daily amount comes along, then add litter, flea doses in the 🛍 Supplies tab. Buy the food from your vet? Under “Where you buy it”, pick them under “Your places”: the row gets a Call button and “Got it!” files the expense against the clinic. Zeus predicts the run-out date and nudges you before it.
- 7Step 7, log an expense: the pet's 💵 Expenses tab. Snap a receipt or type one; the yearly report starts building from the first.
- 8Step 8 (optional), share with your sitter or vet: the pet's 🧳 Sitter Sheet → turn on the live link, or share a vaccine card from the scorecard. One link, always current.
- 9Step 9 (optional), invite your partner: Settings → Household → invite. Whoever else cares for the pet gets their own login to the same records.
- 10Changed your mind about the card? “Hide this for now” tucks it away; this guide stays here.
🩺 Send records to your vet+
Going to the clinic? Send one link with the health summary, the vaccine card, and the papers you pick. It opens with no account, read-only, and stops working after 24 hours or the moment you revoke it.
- 1Save your vet first: 📍 My Places → search → save, with the phone number. That is what makes the one-tap text button.
- 2Open the pet → 🩺 Send to my vet. Pick the clinic, tick any papers from the vault (your last choice is remembered), then “Create the link”.
- 3Text it from your own phone: the “Text <clinic>” button opens Messages already addressed, so the front desk sees a number it knows. No number saved? Use Share, Copy link, show the QR at the counter, or email it.
- 4The clinic sees: pet basics and photo, the health summary sections (a Pro household feature, same as your printable page), the vaccine card, and the papers you ticked. Never your email, phone, address, microchip, other pets, or expenses.
- 5“Sent this week” lists each link with Live / Opened / Expired. Revoke kills a link immediately; a new visit gets a fresh one.
- 6The clinic can send a file back: the visit page has a “Send a file back” panel (receipt, certificate, discharge notes; up to 5 per link). It lands in the pet's 📥 inbox, and nothing is filed until you say so. You get a push and one email per link.
- 7File it from the inbox (pet page → “From the clinic”): Save to vault, Add expense with the file attached as the receipt, log vaccines, or Reject. On a Pro household, “✨ Scan and file” reads it for you: the expense comes prefilled and the vaccines log in one tap.
🕰️ Welcome home: the 3-3-3 rule+
Just adopted? Here's what your new pet is actually going through, so a scared first week never reads as a mistake.
- 1Reframe day one: your new pet just landed in a foreign country. New people, new smells, no shared language, like you arriving somewhere you can't read the signs, they need a few days just to find their bearings.
- 2The first 3 days, decompression. Hiding, barely eating, sleeping a lot, or acting nothing like the pet you met at the shelter is NORMAL. Keep the house calm, skip the welcome party, and don't force interaction.
- 3Give them an anchor: one spot that's entirely theirs, a crate, a quiet corner with their bed. It works like your hotel room in that foreign country: the safe base everything else gets explored from.
- 4The first 3 weeks, the settling-in. Routine emerges, the true personality starts to show, and the rules of the house get tested. Make a short list of what matters to you and teach it gently, a little every day, doing less and succeeding beats reaching for the stars and getting frustrated.
- 5Trust the 21-day effect: for people AND pets, about three weeks of the same daily rhythm is what turns actions into habits. If progress feels slow mid-way, that's on schedule, don't get discouraged.
- 6The first 3 months, home. Routine is second nature, trust and security are building. Give freedom as trust is earned: “would I trust them alone in this room?”, if not yet, keep teaching until you would.
- 7Remember the clock that matters: every animal runs on their own schedule (3-3-3 is a map, not a deadline), and this relationship is measured in years, not weeks. Struggling? Slow down, and ask your shelter or a professional trainer, patience and compassion win.
💉 Track vaccines with the Scorecard+
Five minutes of setup, and Zeus for Pets predicts every next due date for you.
- 1Open your pet's 💉 Vaccines tab and tap “Vaccine Scorecard”.
- 2For each vaccine your pet has had, tap “+Log dose” and enter the date of the last shot (old paperwork or your vet's records are perfect for this).
- 3If your vet uses a different schedule, say Rabies every year instead of every 3, set that vaccine to “every 12 months”. Blank means the standard schedule.
- 4Vet uses a vaccine we don't list? Add it as a custom vaccine with its own interval.
- 5In Settings, turn on “Vaccine reminders” and pick your notice period, we'll email you ahead of every predicted due date.
- 6Print the scorecard (or save it as a PDF) for groomers, boarding, or daycare.
🛍️ Never run out of pet food+
One subscription entry, and the bag warns you before it's empty.
- 1In the 🛍 Supplies tab, tap “Add subscription” and enter the product name, spelled the way the store lists it, so the Order button can find it.
- 2Pick where you buy it: an online store, or under “Your places” the vet or pet store you saved in My Places (that row gets a Call button instead of a store search, and “Got it!” files the expense against them). Then (optional but worth it) paste the product's page link and enter the bag's price.
- 3Pick how to track it. Kibble or litter: how much per day and the bag size, we do the math. A box of treats or anything without a per-day amount: “It lasts about … days” for reminders, or “Autoship, a box arrives every … days” when the store ships on schedule. Only the fields your choice needs are shown.
- 4In Settings, switch on “Supply reorder reminders” with the warning window you want.
- 5When we say it's running low, tap “Order”, it lands you right on the product at your store. Coming back and filing the order is the next guide, “Buy supplies and file the order in one tap”.
- 6When you open the new bag, tap “Got it!” on its row: the countdown resets, the estimate learns your pet's real pace, and if the order was filed within the last week nothing is billed twice.
- 7Multiple pets? Open 🛍 Supplies from the Pets page, every product across the whole household on one list, with what's running low on top, so a single order (and a single shipping fee) covers everyone.
🛒 Buy supplies and file the order in one tap+
Shop at the store you already use. Come back, and Zeus for Pets files the expenses and restarts the countdowns for you.
- 1Start on your pet's 🛍 Supplies tab, or on the household 🛍 Supplies button on the Pets page when you shop for the whole house.
- 2Reordering something you track? Tap “Order” (it reads “Reorder” after the first time) on its row. Buying something new? In the 🛍️ Shop bar pick the store, type what you want in “Search for…” and press Enter, or tap “Shop the store” to browse.
- 3The store opens in a new tab. Shop and pay there exactly as you always do. Zeus for Pets never sees your cart or your card, it only knows you went. Looking for a second thing? Come back and type it in the app's “Search for…” box again, each search you make here becomes a line on the checklist; a search typed on the store's own site is invisible to the app.
- 4Switch back to the Zeus for Pets tab. The “Back from the store?” checklist is already open at the top of the list. It says which store you opened and everything you searched for, and every one of those searches is waiting as a line, even after a reload or on another device.
- 5Check the ticks. The product you tapped Order on is ticked. Anything running low sits right below it, unticked: tick it only if you actually bought it. Prices are filled in from last time, change one if it went up.
- 6Bought more than you went in for? Searched for a leash and came out with a leash, two collars and a bowl? Tap “+ Add another item” once per extra thing and type its name and price, the store is already set, and pick who it is for (🏠 Household, or one pet). The search you typed is already a line, it only needs its price. The ✕ removes a line you added by mistake.
- 7Tap “File this order”. The green banner names what was filed and the total. Countdowns restart today for tracked products, food lands on the pet's Expenses, shared items on the 🏠 household report, a line you gave to a pet on that pet.
- 8Bought nothing after all? Tap “I didn't buy anything” and the checklist closes on every device. Had to leave mid-way? What you ticked and typed is waiting when you come back.
- 9When the delivery arrives, tap “Got it!” on that product's row to mark the bag opened. Within a week of filing it never bills twice. An extra like a bowl or a leash needs nothing more, it was filed the moment you tapped.
💵 Track spending without typing+
Every vet bill and food run in one place, with totals and a printable report.
- 1Quick manual entry: 💵 Expenses tab → “Add expense” → amount, date, category. Ten seconds.
- 2Have the receipt? Attach a photo or PDF so it's always findable later.
- 3With Pro, skip the typing: upload the receipt and the scanner pre-fills everything for you to review, it even spots vaccines on vet invoices.
- 4Food deliveries log themselves: save the price on a supply subscription and every “Got it!” records the purchase.
- 5Tap into the report to see any period grouped by category, print it or save as PDF from your browser.
🔔 Set up your reminders+
Three switches and a calendar button, then Zeus for Pets does the nagging.
- 1In Settings, add your city or ZIP so searches start near you, and check your display name.
- 2Turn on “Vaccine reminders” and choose how many weeks of notice you want.
- 3Turn on “Supply reorder reminders” and choose how many days of warning you want.
- 4Turn on “Care reminders” for meds, flea & tick, and grooming, a few days ahead works best for short cycles.
- 5Want reminders as pop-up notifications too? Settings → Push notifications → “Enable on this device”, repeat on each device you want them on (on iPhone, add Zeus for Pets to your Home Screen first).
- 6For appointments, tap “Add to calendar” after saving one, your phone alerts you an hour before.
- 7Vaccines have the same button: an all-day calendar event with a day-before reminder.
🚨 Be ready if your pet ever gets lost+
Five calm minutes now means everything is one tap away in a panicked moment.
- 1On your pet's profile (Edit), fill in “Good with people” and “Good with other animals”, the first thing a finder wants to know is whether it's safe to approach.
- 2Add distinctive markings (“white patch on left shoulder”) so a finder can confirm it's really your pet, and tick “Microchipped” if they are, the chip number itself stays private.
- 3Make sure the profile photo is a clear, recent one, it becomes the center of the flyer.
- 4If the worst happens: open your pet's page, tap “🚨 Lost?”, enter the phone number finders should call and a short message (last seen where, “don't chase, just call”).
- 5Tap “Mark as lost”. You instantly get a public web page anyone can open without an account, a QR code, and a printable flyer, print it, post it, share the link.
- 6The QR on the flyer shows live info, you can update the message or phone number any time and every printed flyer stays current.
- 7With Pro, go one step further on a calm day: enable the 🏷️ QR collar tag and print the tag sheet, anyone who ever scans your pet's collar sees a friendly “call my family” page, and it turns urgent automatically if you mark them lost.
- 8When they're home safe, tap “🎉 Found!”, the public page comes down immediately.
🐾 Getting started
How do I add a pet?+
From your dashboard or the Pets page, tap “Add a pet”, fill in the details, and save. A rough birth date is fine, it just powers the age we show. You can add a profile photo too!
What should I set up first?+
Two things in Settings make everything else nicer: your city or ZIP (so place and dog-park searches start near you) and the email reminders you want, vaccine reminders and food reorder reminders each have their own switch.
I adopted a pet and got a Zeus for Pets QR code, what now?+
Congratulations! 🎉 The shelter prepared your new pet's records, profile, papers, and documents, as a handoff. Scan the QR (or open the emailed link), sign in or create a free account, keep or change their name, and tap “Bring them home”: the pet and every document land in your account, ready to go. Already use Zeus for Pets? Sign in as usual, the new pet simply joins the pets you already have. And if the shelter emailed the link to your Zeus for Pets address, just log in: a “new family member is waiting” banner greets you on the dashboard. Any adoption fee the shelter recorded shows up in your pet's 💵 Expenses automatically, with the invoice in the 📁 vault.
My adoption is an “early adoption”, what does that mean?+
Some shelters let a pet come home before spay/neuter surgery. Your pet's page shows a banner with the surgery deadline (usually 30 days). After the vet visit, photograph the discharge paper or invoice and tap “Send proof of surgery” right in the banner, the shelter sees it instantly and finalizes the adoption. Until then the pet officially remains in the shelter's care, but everything in Zeus for Pets, records, expenses, photos, is already yours to use.
I run a shelter or rescue, how do I get a shelter account?+
Apply from the site: open /shelters/apply (there is a link on the sign-up page, in Settings, and on the For shelters page), tell us the organization, where it is, and your role, and send it. That creates your account and the application in one step. Your account works right away while a real person reviews the request, usually within two business days, and you get an email either way. Once approved, the account becomes the shelter account and opens the shelter portal.
Who can see my pets' information?+
Only you. Every pet, record, vaccine, expense, and photo is private to your account, no one else can view them. (One tiny exception exists by design: during an early adoption, the shelter can view the single proof-of-surgery document you send them, nothing else.)
How do I figure out which breed fits my life?+
Open the 🐕 Breed Library and tap “Try the Finder” (or go straight to /breeds/finder, no account needed). Pick a size, an optional height range, and the personality traits that matter to you, and it lists every breed that matches, linked to full profiles with care guides. It's made for before you adopt: knowing what fits your home makes it far more likely your new friend stays home. And remember, most shelter pets are wonderful mixes, so use breeds as a compass, not a rulebook.
Where do I keep the insurance policy and microchip papers?+
The 📁 Document Vault, at the bottom of each pet's Records tab: upload the insurance policy, microchip registration, adoption papers, prescriptions, or licenses (image or PDF). Add an expiry date to a policy or license and the vault flags it before it lapses. Free accounts hold 5 documents per pet; Pro is unlimited.
Can I track my pet's weight?+
Yes, the ⚖️ Weight log lives at the bottom of the Records tab, with a dated list of weigh-ins and, from the third one on, a “Weight over time” chart above it (with a soft band showing your breed's typical range, when we know it) that you can hide or show. Log a number any time, or open a past vet appointment and use “Weight at this visit”, the clinic weighs your pet every time, and those show as filled dots on the chart. Growth or drift is obvious at a glance, and the chart plus the last weigh-ins print on the 🩺 Health Summary and the full history on the 📋 Care Record, weight is the first thing a vet asks.
How do I edit or delete something?+
Open the item, every record, vaccine, appointment, subscription, or expense has Edit and Delete buttons right on its row or page.
💉 Vaccines
How do I track vaccines?+
Open your pet's 💉 Vaccines tab and add each vaccine with its next due date, badges then show what's overdue, due soon, or upcoming, and your dashboard collects anything coming up. For the full picture, open the Vaccine Scorecard from the same tab.
What is the Vaccine Scorecard?+
A printable card that predicts each vaccine's next due date for you. Log a dose with “+Log dose” whenever a shot happens, and the scorecard works out the next one from how often that vaccine repeats. You can adjust any vaccine to “every N months” to match your vet's advice, and add custom vaccines your vet uses.
How do I send the vaccine card to my vet, kennel, or groomer?+
On the Vaccine Scorecard, tap “Create the link”, you get a private link you can text or email (the 📋 Copy and 📤 Share buttons sit right next to Print). Whoever opens it sees a read-only, always-current vaccine card: just the table and your pet's name, species, and age, never your records, expenses, or contact info. Stop sharing anytime and the link dies instantly. It beats attaching a PDF because the card is never out of date.
How do vaccine email reminders work?+
Turn on “Vaccine reminders” in Settings and choose how many weeks of notice you want. We email you before a vaccine is due, whether the date came from one you typed in or one the scorecard predicted.
Can I get vaccine dates on my phone's calendar?+
Yes, each vaccine has an “Add to calendar” download. It creates an all-day event with a reminder the day before, and works with Apple, Google, and Outlook calendars.
💊 Care & routine
What goes in the Care tab?+
Anything you do on a repeat cycle, a monthly flea & tick chew, a daily pill, grooming every 6 weeks. Give it a cadence and we predict the next due date, badge what's overdue, and email you before it slips (turn on “Care reminders” in Settings).
What does the “Done!” button do?+
It logs today in the item's history, restarts the countdown, and re-arms the reminder. If you've saved a price, it also records the expense automatically, one tap, three chores.
Can I fix a mistaken “Done!”?+
Yes, open History on the care item and delete the entry. The schedule rolls back to the previous one automatically.
🚨 Lost pet
What does “Mark as lost” actually share publicly?+
Only what you choose: your pet's name, photo, breed and age, the temperament and markings from their profile, whether they're microchipped (never the chip number), and the phone number and message you type on the lost form. Nothing else from your account, and the page disappears the moment you tap “Found!”.
Why fill in temperament and markings before anything happens?+
A finder's first question is “can I safely approach?”, and “not friendly with other dogs” matters enormously to someone walking their own. Markings let them confirm it's really your pet before calling. These are calm-day answers; the lost form only asks for the phone number and message.
Does the QR code stop working after my pet is found?+
The page goes dark while lost mode is off, but the QR itself stays valid forever, if your pet ever slips out again, flipping lost mode back on revives the same link, so old flyers and tags keep working. (With the Pro collar tag enabled, the page stays up even while your pet is safe, showing a calm “call my family” version instead.)
What does Pro add to lost mode?+
Four things: the 🏷️ QR collar tag (an always-on “if found” page you print and attach to the collar, set up before anything goes wrong), extra flyer styles (a bold LOST DOG poster and classic tear-off phone strips), live search updates (“spotted near the park at 3pm”) that appear on the public page so every posted flyer stays current, and backup contacts, more people a finder can call if you don't pick up. The essentials, marking lost, the public page, the classic flyer, are free for everyone, always.
🔔 Notifications
How do push notifications work?+
Settings → Push notifications → “Enable on this device.” Your reminders, vaccines, food reorders, care, then also arrive as pop-up notifications, even when Zeus for Pets isn't open, and tapping one takes you straight to the right place. It's per-device: enable it on each computer or phone you want notified.
Can I pick which channel each reminder uses?+
With Pro, yes, each reminder type in Settings gets its own 📧 Email and 🔔 Push checkboxes. A popular setup: care nags (short cycles) as push only, vaccines as email only, food reorders as both. Free accounts get every reminder on both channels. Unchecking both boxes mutes that reminder type entirely.
Can I make the app light or dark?+
The iPhone and Android apps follow your phone: change Dark Mode under your phone's display settings and the app follows along, the way native apps do. On the website there's a Settings → Appearance card with Light, Dark, or Match device, remembered in that browser.
Why does the text look small (or large) in the app?+
The app follows your phone's Text Size setting, so if you use larger text in Settings → Display & Brightness → Text Size, Zeus for Pets grows with it. If something looks cramped at a very large size, tell us at hello@zeusforpets.com.
Why don't I get notifications on my iPhone?+
Safari on iPhone only allows push for web apps added to the Home Screen: open Zeus for Pets in Safari, tap Share → “Add to Home Screen”, open it from that icon, then enable push in Settings. Also check the notification isn't being muted by Focus mode.
🧳 Sitter Sheet
What's the Sitter Sheet?+
One printable page with everything a pet sitter needs: each pet's feeding plan, meds and care schedule with due dates, temperament notes, vaccine status, upcoming appointments, your vet's contact info, and your house notes. The 🧳 button on the Pets page covers the whole household; the one on a pet's page covers just them.
Can I send the sitter a link instead of printing?+
Yes, on the Sitter Sheet page (either the whole-household one from the Pets page, or a single pet's), tap “Create the link” and text it to whoever's pet-sitting. They see the same sheet in their browser, no account needed, read-only, and always current: if you change the feeding plan mid-trip, they just refresh, and pets you add later appear on the household link automatically. Tap “Stop sharing” the moment the trip's over and the link dies instantly; the next trip gets a brand-new link, so a past sitter never keeps access.
My pet takes medication every few hours. How do I tell the sitter?+
Add it on the Care tab with the unit set to hours (for example “every 8 hours”) and tap Done! when you give the last dose before you leave. The Sitter Sheet prints the cadence and the time of that last dose, so the sitter knows exactly when the next one is due. Hour-based tasks never trigger the daily email reminders; they're a same-day instruction.
Where do the “House notes” come from?+
Settings → Sitter notes. Type them once (“You can reach me at …”, where the spare key lives) and they print on every sheet, with blank lines left underneath for day-of scribbles.
👥 Household sharing
Can my partner see and update our pets too?+
Yes. Settings → Household → invite them by email. They create their own account (never your password), and your pets appear in their app with a 👥 badge. They can log everything day-to-day, vet visits, care done, meals, expenses, weights, photos, documents, and it all lands in the same shared record. One partner per household: two people, one pet family.
Does my partner need to pay for Pro too?+
No. Pro covers the household: if either of you has it, both of you have every ✨ feature. Your partner's upgrade page will simply say they're covered, nobody pays twice.
How do I stop sharing?+
Settings → Household → Remove (or your partner can tap Leave). It takes effect immediately, their app no longer shows your pets, and you're both emailed so nothing changes silently. Everything either of you logged stays safely in the pets' records.
What can't my partner do?+
The things that stay with the record-keeper: editing or deleting the pet's profile, Lost Pet Mode, sitter-link sharing, adoption handoffs, and managing the household itself. Everything day-to-day is theirs to log.
💬 Vet Q&A
What's Vet Q&A?+
A Pro feature: tap “💬 Ask a health question” on your pet's page and chat about their health, behavior, or care. Answers are personalized, the assistant knows your pet's breed, age, vaccine status, and routine. Conversations aren't saved; they disappear when you leave the page.
Is it a real vet?+
No, it's an educational assistant, and it's strict about its limits: it never diagnoses, never gives medication doses, and always defers to your actual veterinarian. If your question sounds like an emergency, it will tell you to stop typing and call, and it gives you your saved emergency clinic's number. When in doubt, skip the chat and call your vet.
📋 Care Record
What's the Care Record report?+
A Pro feature: one dated, printable document of your pet's whole history, every vaccine dose, every flea & tick treatment logged, vet visits, medical records, and veterinary invoices with receipts noted. Find it via the 📋 button on your pet's page.
When would I use it?+
Insurance claims and disputes (a dated history is the evidence that a condition wasn't "pre-existing"), insurance applications, switching to a new vet, boarding and daycare paperwork. The longer you use Zeus for Pets, the stronger this document gets, it proves care over time.
What's the Health Summary, and how is it different?+
The 🩺 Health Summary (also Pro, next to the Care Record button) is the short version: one page of your pet's current state, vaccine status, medications and preventives, diet, handling notes, recent history, insurance. Hand it over at a vet check-in or boarding drop-off. Rule of thumb: Health Summary for the front desk, Care Record for the insurance company.
📅 Appointments
How do I add an appointment?+
In the pet's Appointments tab, give it a title (like “Annual checkup”), pick the date and time, and choose where, either a place you've saved in My Places or just type the name. The list sorts itself into Upcoming and Past.
How do I get reminded about an appointment?+
After saving, tap “Add to calendar”. That puts the appointment on your phone's calendar with an alert an hour before, so the reminder comes from the calendar you already check.
If I delete or reschedule an appointment, does my calendar update?+
Not automatically. Once it's in your calendar it's your own event. Zeus for Pets can't reach in and change or remove it, so we remind you to update it there when you delete or reschedule. Your record in the app is always the source of truth. A “keep my calendar in sync” subscription is on our list.
🛍️ Food & Supplies
What's the difference between the Diet and Supplies tabs?+
Diet is the menu: what your pet eats each day, how much, and on what schedule. Supplies is the pantry: the bags or deliveries you buy, so we can warn you before you run out and give you a one-tap reorder.
Can I track litter, treats, or flea medication too?+
Yes. When you add a supply, the first question is “What is it?”: food, treats, litter, supplements, medication, flea & tick, grooming, or other. The units adjust (doses for a flea pack, pounds for litter), “Got it!” files the expense under the right category, and Order searches the store for that kind of item. For medication, flea & tick, and grooming we also offer to add it to the Care tab so the next dose gets predicted and reminded.
How does the run-out prediction work?+
Choose how to track it. For kibble or litter, tell us how much per day and how big the bag is, by weight (lb/kg) or in the same unit, and we show “~5 days left · runs out Aug 30”. For treats or anything without a per-day amount, pick “It lasts about … days” (we remind you) or “Autoship, a box arrives every … days” (the store ships, you tap Got it! on arrival). No amounts needed for those two.
Can I shop for something I don't track yet?+
Yes. The 🛍️ Shop bar on the Supplies tab (and on the household Supplies page) has a store picker, a search box and a “Shop the store” button, Chewy, Amazon, Petco or PetSmart. Search for a flea collar or open the store, and when you come back the “Back from the store?” checklist is waiting, saying where you went, with every search you typed in the app already listed as an extra item at that store, so you add the prices and tap “File this order”. Only searches typed in the app's own box count, the app cannot see what you type on the store's site. Anything else in the basket, a bed or bowls you never tracked, goes on another line, filed to the household unless you pick a pet on that line (a leash for Mojo lands on Mojo). Half done and had to leave? What you ticked and typed is still there when you come back on this device. Each extra line has its own store, so a Chewy food run and an Amazon litter run on the same day both file with the right vendor.
What is the “Back from the store?” checklist?+
The step-by-step is the guide “Buy supplies and file the order in one tap” above. In short: the moment you tap Order, a checklist appears at the top of the Supplies list (and stays there for three days, on any device). It pre-ticks the item you tapped Order on, lists anything running low right below it for you to tick if you grabbed it too, fills in the last price you paid, and lets you add extra items that were in the same basket. One tap files the whole order: countdowns restart, food expenses land on the pet, shared items like treats or a bed land on the household report. Just browsing, or changed your mind? Tap “I didn't buy anything” and the checklist closes for good, on every device, until your next Order or Shop tap. A Shop tap you never come back for clears itself by the next day.
What does the “Got it!” button do?+
Tap it when you open a new bag or your delivery arrives. It resets the countdown to a full supply, learns how long a bag really lasts in your house (predictions get sharper over time), and, if you've saved the price, logs the purchase in Expenses automatically. Already filed the order from the checklist? A second tap within a week just moves the date, it never bills twice.
What does the Order button do?+
It jumps you straight to the product at your store, either the exact product link you pasted, or a search for your product's name at the retailer you chose. Add the price to the subscription and every “Got it!” logs the spend for you.
Can I get an email before the food runs out?+
Yes, turn on “Supply reorder reminders” in Settings and pick how many days of warning you want. We email you when a supply enters that window.
💵 Expenses
How do I record an expense?+
In the pet's 💵 Expenses tab, tap “Add expense”: amount, date, and a category (Vet, Grooming, Food, …). Vendor and item are optional, and you can attach the receipt, a photo or a PDF.
Can Zeus for Pets read the receipt for me?+
With Pro, yes, upload a photo or PDF of the receipt and the scanner pre-fills the amount, date, category, and vendor for you to review. It even spots vaccines on vet invoices so you can add them to the vaccine list in the same step.
Why did an expense appear on its own?+
If a supply has a price saved, tapping “Got it!” logs that purchase automatically, it's noted as added from a restock, and you can edit or delete it like any other expense. Food and per-pet doses land on that pet; treats, litter and other shared supplies land on the household.
We have more than one pet. Where does a shared cost go?+
Food, medication, flea & tick and supplements belong to one pet, so they go on that pet's Expenses tab. Anything the whole house shares, treats, litter, a bed, bowls, goes on the 🏠 Household expenses page (the 💵 Expenses button on Your pets). That report shows every pet's costs plus the shared ones together, and each pet's own report adds one “plus shared household costs” line, so nothing is split or counted twice.
How do I see totals or print a report?+
The Expenses tab shows this year, this month, and your biggest category at a glance, tap through for the full report. The report opens on this year, one line per month with its total, tap a month to see its rows (the latest month is already open). This month lists the rows by category. All time is the big picture, a total per year and per category, pick a year to see its rows. Print opens every month first, so the paper copy is complete, and your browser's Print saves it as a PDF.
📸 Photos & memories
How do I add photos of my pet?+
The 📸 Memories tab takes up to 10 photos at a time. After uploading, give each one a caption and the month it was taken, then flip through them full-size with the arrow keys. They're private to you.
📍 Places & dog parks
How do I save my vet and other places?+
On My Places, pick a category (vet, groomer, pet store, …) and search near your saved location. Save the ones you use, they'll appear in the appointment “Where” picker. Can't find somewhere small or new? Add it by hand.
How do I find dog parks?+
The Dog Parks page searches near your saved location or right where you are. Save favorites, open directions on the map, and rate parks with stars to remember the good ones.
⚙️ Account
What is Pro?+
Pro unlocks the smart extras: the AI receipt scanner, Vet Q&A, the Care Record and Health Summary reports, the QR collar tag, extra flyer styles and backup contacts, per-channel reminder controls, and an unlimited document vault. See what's included and the plans on the ✨ Upgrade page (/upgrade).
How do I upgrade, and how would I cancel?+
Any ✨ hint (or Settings → Subscription) leads to the Upgrade page: pick monthly or annual and pay in the secure Paddle checkout, your card details never touch Zeus for Pets. Afterward, Settings → Subscription shows your plan and renewal date, and Manage billing opens your Paddle portal to update your card, download invoices, or cancel. Canceling keeps Pro until the time you've paid for ends, and nothing is ever deleted if you return to Free.
How does Invite a friend work?+
Your home page and Settings have an Invite a friend card with your own link. Tap Share to send it from your phone the way you would any message, or copy it. When your friend creates an account through that link and adds their first pet, you both get a month of ✨ Pro, added on top of whatever you already have (for a paid plan, after the paid period). You can earn up to twelve months this way. We never see or store your friend's number or email: you send the link, they decide. A household partner you already share pets with does not count, since they are covered by your Pro already.
Can I sign in with Google or Apple?+
Yes, on the website: the sign-in and sign-up pages have Continue with Google and Continue with Apple. If you already have an account under that email, the button simply signs you into it. Accounts created this way have no password at first; Settings → Password lets you add one so your email works too, and Settings → Connected accounts lets you link or unlink Google and Apple (unlinking needs a password on the account, so you always have a way in). In the phone apps the buttons arrive in a later update, sign in with your email and password there for now.
How do I change my password or name?+
Both are in Settings. Changing your password signs you out everywhere else, so a lost device can't stay logged in. Forgot your password entirely? Use the “Forgot your password?” link on the sign-in page, we'll email you a reset link that works for one hour.
Why do I have to confirm my email before signing in?+
So we know the address is really yours, vaccine reminders, sitter links, and password resets all go there, and a typo would silently swallow every one of them. After you sign up we send one email with a “Confirm my email” button; tap it and you're in (no code to type). Didn't get it? Check spam, or just sign in with your email and password and we'll send a fresh link automatically. Links work for 24 hours.
What's the “tips, news, and offers” box, and can I turn it off?+
It's your say-so for the occasional email from us, new features, pet-care tips, offers. It's separate from your reminders: unchecking it (at sign-up or anytime in Settings → Tips, news & offers) unsubscribes you from everything promotional, and your vaccine, care, and reorder reminders keep coming as usual.
Can I download my data?+
Always. Settings → Your data → “Download everything”. You get one ZIP with all your information in structured form plus every photo, receipt, and document, organized per pet. It's free for every account: your data is yours, including the ability to take it and leave.
How do I delete my account?+
At the bottom of Settings. It permanently erases your account and every pet, record, photo, and place with it, so we ask you to type DELETE to confirm.
