Terms of Service

These Terms govern use of Zeus for Pets (zeusforpets.com and related apps, the "Service"), operated by Treefrog Systems LLC, a Texas limited liability company.

1. The service

Zeus for Pets is a record-keeping and organization service for pet families and animal shelters: pet profiles, health records, vaccine tracking, reminders, documents, and, for participating shelters, an adoption portal that transfers an animal's records to its adopter.

2. Eligibility, agreement, and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract to create an account or purchase a subscription. By creating an account, clicking a button indicating acceptance, purchasing a subscription, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you use the Service for a shelter or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

You must provide accurate, current, and complete account information and keep it updated. Each individual must use a separate account. You may not share credentials or allow another person to use your account. Shelter administrators are responsible for appropriately assigning access, limiting staff permissions, and promptly disabling access when a staff member no longer requires it.

You are responsible for activity occurring through your account except to the extent caused by our breach of these Terms. You must promptly notify us at support@zeusforpets.com if you know or suspect that an account or credential has been compromised.

We may require verification of identity, organizational affiliation, or authority before creating, maintaining, or transferring an account or animal record.

In plain words: one person, one account. Shelter staff each get their own login with their own tasks, and the shelter's lead is in charge of who has access.

3. No veterinary advice; AI limitations ⚠️

Zeus for Pets is an administrative, recordkeeping, and informational service. Treefrog Systems LLC is not a veterinary practice, and the Service does not provide veterinary services, diagnosis, treatment, prescriptions, medical monitoring, or emergency services. Use of the Service does not create a veterinarian-client-patient relationship or any other professional relationship.

Reminder schedules, breed information, care content, record summaries, and AI-enabled features, including Vet Q&A, are provided solely for general informational and organizational purposes. AI-generated output may be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, outdated, or inappropriate for a particular animal. The Service cannot examine an animal, confirm a diagnosis, prescribe treatment, determine whether an emergency exists, or replace the professional judgment of a licensed veterinarian.

Do not disregard, avoid, or delay professional veterinary advice because of information obtained through the Service. If an animal may be ill, injured, poisoned, in distress, or experiencing an emergency, immediately contact a licensed veterinarian, emergency veterinary clinic, or appropriate poison-control service.

You remain solely responsible for decisions concerning an animal's health, safety, diet, medication, treatment, and care. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Treefrog Systems LLC is not responsible for harm resulting from reliance on informational or AI-generated content.

4. Shelters, listings, and adoptions

The Service may allow participating shelters to create animal listings, manage records, communicate information, and transfer selected records to adopters. Treefrog Systems LLC provides only the technology used to facilitate those activities. We are not a shelter, rescue organization, broker, veterinarian, animal-care provider, or party to any adoption or transfer.

Each shelter is solely responsible for its animals, personnel, screening decisions, adoption requirements, fees, contracts, legal compliance, and all statements concerning an animal's health, breed, age, behavior, temperament, ownership, vaccination status, or history. We do not independently inspect animals or verify information supplied by shelters, adopters, veterinarians, or other users.

Shelters and other users represent and warrant that they have the lawful authority and all necessary rights and permissions to upload, publish, use, and transfer the information and content they provide. A shelter must obtain any authorization required to disclose adopter, employee, volunteer, veterinarian, or other third-party information.

Transfer of records through the Service does not itself transfer legal ownership of an animal or create, amend, or replace an adoption agreement. Any adoption, return, fee, refund, dispute, injury, illness, or representation concerning an animal is solely between the shelter and adopter.

Additional shelter features, responsibilities, and give-back program terms may be governed by a separate Shelter Services Agreement or program terms. If those terms conflict with these Terms regarding a shelter-specific feature, the shelter-specific terms control.

In plain words: we move the paperwork. The adoption itself is between you and the shelter.

5. Your content

You own what you upload (photos, records, documents, notes). You grant us the license needed to operate the Service: to store, display, and transmit your content to you and to those you or your shelter explicitly share it with. Do not upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or falsified (including falsified vaccination or medical records; we may terminate accounts for this).

6. Subscriptions, automatic renewal, cancellation, and refunds

The core Service is currently offered without charge. Zeus for Pets Pro is an optional paid subscription offered on a monthly or annual basis. Current prices, billing frequency, and included features are displayed at checkout and control over prices stated elsewhere.

AUTOMATIC RENEWAL. UNLESS YOU CANCEL BEFORE THE END OF THE CURRENT BILLING PERIOD, YOUR PRO SUBSCRIPTION WILL AUTOMATICALLY RENEW FOR SUCCESSIVE PERIODS OF THE SAME LENGTH, AND THE APPLICABLE SUBSCRIPTION PRICE AND TAXES WILL BE CHARGED THROUGH THE PAYMENT METHOD ASSOCIATED WITH YOUR PURCHASE.

Payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as merchant of record for eligible transactions and handles payment collection, applicable transaction taxes, and payment processing. Your purchase may also be subject to Paddle's buyer terms presented at checkout. Treefrog Systems LLC remains responsible for providing the Zeus for Pets Service as described in these Terms.

You may cancel at any time through your account Settings or through the cancellation method identified in your purchase confirmation. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not ordinarily result in a prorated refund. Unless otherwise stated at checkout or required by law, access to Pro remains available through the end of the period already paid.

A refund for an initial Pro purchase may be requested within 14 days after purchase by contacting support@zeusforpets.com. After that period, payments are nonrefundable except where required by law or expressly approved under our published refund policy. If Paddle processes the refund request, its procedures will apply.

We may change subscription prices prospectively. We will provide advance notice of a price increase as required by applicable law. A price change will apply no earlier than the next renewal occurring after the notice period. If you do not agree to the new price, you must cancel before the new price takes effect.

A founding subscription price applies only while the same subscription remains continuously active, paid, and in good standing. It does not apply to taxes, optional add-ons, materially different plans, or a subscription that is canceled, terminated for cause, refunded, charged back, or allowed to lapse. We may discontinue the applicable plan or the Service, but we will not increase the stated base price solely because a qualifying subscriber has maintained continuous eligibility.

Downgrading or canceling Pro does not itself delete your account data. Features and storage may become limited as disclosed before the downgrade takes effect.

In plain words: Pro renews until you cancel, you can cancel any time and keep it to the end of what you paid for, first purchases can be refunded within 14 days, and a founding price stays yours as long as you keep the subscription going.

7. Shelters and the give-back program

Shelter portal accounts are free. Zeus for Pets operates a discretionary revenue give-back program directing a share of revenue to participating shelters attributed to adoptions. Program mechanics, rates, eligibility, and timing are set out in separate program terms, may be updated, and do not create a contractual entitlement under these Terms.

8. Acceptable use

No unlawful use, no scraping or harvesting of other users' or shelters' data, no interfering with the Service, no misrepresenting an affiliation with a shelter, no using lost-pet or adoption features to harass or defraud.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time (Settings; includes data export first). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with data export made available where lawful.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE, CONTENT, AI-GENERATED OUTPUT, REMINDERS, RECORDS, LISTINGS, AND ALL RELATED FEATURES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TREEFROG SYSTEMS LLC DISCLAIMS ALL EXPRESS, IMPLIED, AND STATUTORY WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AVAILABILITY, SECURITY, AND THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS OF INFORMATION PROVIDED BY USERS, SHELTERS, ADOPTERS, VETERINARIANS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, OR AI SYSTEMS. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT REMINDERS OR NOTIFICATIONS WILL BE DELIVERED, RECEIVED, OR ACTED UPON, AND USERS SHOULD MAINTAIN APPROPRIATE INDEPENDENT CARE AND MEDICAL RECORDS.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TREEFROG SYSTEMS LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, REVENUE, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED THAT SUCH DAMAGES WERE POSSIBLE.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF TREEFROG SYSTEMS LLC ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE DURING THE 12 MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM; OR (B) $50.

These exclusions and limitations apply regardless of the theory of liability and reflect the allocation of risk between the parties. They do not exclude or limit liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Some jurisdictions do not permit certain exclusions or limitations, so portions of this Section may not apply to you.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms and any dispute arising from or relating to the Service are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

Subject to any applicable law that requires otherwise, each party agrees that any lawsuit arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service must be filed exclusively in the state courts located in Ellis County, Texas, or the United States District Court having jurisdiction over that county. Each party consents to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts.

Before filing a lawsuit, the complaining party must provide written notice describing the dispute and requested relief. The parties will attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days after receipt of that notice. This requirement does not prevent either party from seeking temporary or emergency injunctive relief when reasonably necessary to prevent immediate harm.

Nothing in these Terms waives any non-waivable consumer right or prevents an eligible party from bringing an individual claim in small-claims court.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced by email or in-app notice, and continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
